An athlete-centred approach to coaching is the theme of this workshop. It explores different methods of coaching, and in particular athlete-centred coaching vs. coach-centred coaching, plus specific topics such as questioning, feedback and communication in general.
Utilising Games to Maximise Player Potential Workshop (takes approx. 60 minutes)
A workshop focussing on utilising games to maximise player potential. It explores how using games can improve the development of players and maximise potential, and looks at the benefits of a traditional approach v a games approach.
ARL Coach Psychology Workshop (takes approx. 60-90 minutes)
Formed in partnership with Auckland University psychology lecturer Dr. Barry Hughes, this workshop focuses on the psychology of players and coaches, as well as methods to get the best out of team members.
Through the workshop coaches will get an understanding of what basic sports psychology is and how it applies to them in their role.
